ABOUT THE TEACHER
Jennifer Gage performed professionally for over 30 years with Joel Hall Dancers, Ballet Tennessee, Ballet Entre Nous, and many more. She has been teaching for over 30 years as well, specializing in ballet, pointe, jazz, ballroom, contemporary, and stretching. Her school, NorthSide Dance Theater and professional company, Alliance Dance thrived in Chicago for 13 years where one of her specialties was encouraging adult dancers of all levels. As an instructor, she is a firm believer in Age Appropriate/Level Appropriate and enjoys creating a positive and constructive environment with dance and life.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
Each session starts with an introduction to ballet, establishing some of the basic steps, and learning what the focus steps are for the month. Over the course of the session, dancers become more comfortable with the technique, which allows them to enjoy the growth of their personal ballet journey.
Because every session begins by reviewing the basic steps and establishing different focus steps, it allows new people to join the class each session, but also continues to add in important Beginner steps in a manageable and enjoyable way. Because there’s always something to work on, most dancers will take the class for about a year before they feel like they are ready for the next level.
